ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Royals won 3 events as Jacob Parent set a meet record in the 200m at the Holst Invite at Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday, April 22nd.
Jacob Parent won the 200m in a meet record time of 21.83 as he led 4 Royals in the top-5. Grant Nelson was 3rd in 22.39, Colin Asplin was 4th in 23.15 and Tony Haack was 5th in 23.40. Earlier in the day, Haack (52.40) edged out Asplin (52.70) in the 400m as they took 5th and 6th place respectively.
David Myres dominated the 400m hurdles from start to finish. Myres was the race in 56.32 in windy conditions to win by more than 6 seconds.Â
Multi-sport athlete Pryce Ferrin led a 1-2 Royals finish in the 110m hurdles. Ferrin - a basketball player in the winter - won the race in 15.89, while Josh Lee was 2nd in 16.62.
Godsword Simon ran a terrific 100m dash, taking 2nd place in 11.19 on a day that saw wind chills under 30 degrees. That was a season best time for Simon.
Evan Larsen took 5th place in the hammer throw with a toss of 49.15m / 161'3". Larsen was also 6th in the discus with his mark of 43.67m / 143'3", which stands as the 7th best in program history.Â
On Friday evening, Aidan St. George raced his way to a massive personal best in the 10,000m run at UW-LaCrosse. St. George ran 31:52.95 to win his heat and set a 50 second personal best in the event. St. George worked his way through the field posting back-to-back 5k's of 16:12 and 15:40. His time is the 5th fastest in program history.
The Royals will have a busy week upcoming as the team will be split between several meets. Here is the competition schedule:
