LAKE ELMO, Minn. – The Bethel University women's golf team notched a third-place finish at the 2023 MIAC Championships. BU carded a 977 (320-327-330) in the 54-hole event that was played on a challenging course, the Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo.
St. Catherine won the event for the second straight season with a 930 while Carleton finished second with a 957. Macalester was fourth, behind the Royals with a 1,001.
For the first time since 2019, the Royals placed three individuals on the All-Championship Team, bestowed upon top 10 finishers.
Greta McArthur led the squad with a seventh-place finish carding a 239, she has now finished in the top 10 at all three MIAC Championships she has played in.
Laura Beltman and
Sophie Brantner each tied for ninth with a 243.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• McArthur shot 12-over-par on the final day with her lone birdie coming on the par-four No. 13 green. She shot six-over-par on both the front and back nine in the final round.
• Beltman had her best MIAC finish ending with her best round of the weekend with a six-over-par 78. A triple bogey to start the day set her back a bit going five-over-par on the front nine. She finished strong battle tough winds on the back nine birding the par-four No. 15 hole. She finished her day par-bogey-par for one-over on the back nine.
• Brantner, competing in her first MIAC Championship, went 81-80-82 for the event. She went six-over-par in the front nine that included one birdie before going four-over on the back nine.

Madison Doeden placed 37th with a 273.
