ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Bethel University women's soccer team dropped a close conference match 2-1 to Concordia College Wednesday afternoon at Ona Orth Athletic Complex. The loss officially drops the Royals out of MIAC Playoff contention moving to 1-7 in the conference and 3-8-2 overall with three games left in the season.
How It Happened
• The first half of the game was high-paced, with Concordia kicking off the scoring in the 11th minute and putting up 10 shots, keeping the Bethel defense and goalkeeper
Kate Green busy.
• Bethel responded in the 32nd minute with
Malia Beilby chipping a shot over the Cobber goalkeeper's head, making it 1-1.
• Not to be outdone, the Cobbers stormed into the second half with a vengeance, netting a goal in the first six minutes of the period from inside the six-yard box.

Hannah Kvant and
Katie Oneill each gave the Royals one last chance at finding the equalizer in the final 30 seconds. Kvant's shot was off frame while Concordia's Breanna Nelson coraled her 10th save of the match.

The Royals make the trek to St. Peter, Minn., where they will take on Gustavus Adolphus, Saturday, Oct. 21, at 3:30 p.m.
