COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The Bethel Royals opened up their championship season as four athletes competed at the MIAC Indoor Championships. In the women's pentathlon, Jacy Roste placed 10th with 2623 points and Sally Paul placed 11th overall with 2599 points. This was both Roste and Paul's first pentathlon of their career. Here is how the events broke down:
- 60 meter hurdles
- Roste – 9.76 seconds, 758 points
- Paul – 10.37 seconds, 644 points
- High jump
- Roste – 4'4.75"/1.34m, 449 points
- Paul – 4'6"/1.37m, 481 points
- Shot put
- Roste – 29'6.75"/9.01m, 465 points
- Paul – 30'1.5"/9.18m, 476 points
- Long jump

After the first day of the men's heptathlon, Lukas Walton is currently in 5th place with 2412 points and Micah Smith is in 11th place with 2142 points. Here's how the events broke down:

- Walton – 7.57 seconds, 690 points
- Smith – 7.63 seconds, 671 points
- Long jump
- Walton – 20'1"/6.12m, 613 points
- Smith – 18'11.5"/5.78m, 540 points

- Walton – 34'0"/10.36m, 507 points
- Smith – 30'11.25"/9.43m, 451 points

The men's heptathletes will continue competition tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM at St. John's. Day one of the MIAC Indoor Championships will also take place with field events beginning at 4:00 PM and running events starting at 4:30 PM.
