Grant Nelson and Timmy Ball Win Titles at Redlands Invitational

ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The Bethel University men opened their 2026 outdoor season at the Redlands Invitational in Redlands, California on Friday, The Royals took fifth place with three points, while George Fox won the Redlands Invitational Title with 18 points.

Grant Nelson won the 200 meter dash championship with a career-best 20.91. The titles continued to role for Nelson in the 400 meter dash, where he crossed the finish line at 46.80. Elliott Kent trailed Nelson in the 400 meter dash with a career-best 48.32, good enough for fifth place. Kent also notched a 15th-place time of 22.09 in the 200 meter dash.

Timmy Ball won the discus title with a 48.45m, followed by Philip Conant's fourth-place toss of 46.37m. Adam Hokanson highlighted the Royals in the hammer throw, where he registered a toss of 54.67m en route to fourth place.

Logan Swanson took second place in the 110 meter hurdles with a 14.76, followed by Blake Viesselman's sixth-place time of 15.32. Viesselman followed that with a 55.58 in the 400 meter hurdles, which put him in third place. Nick Bovitz kept the third-place trend alive with a 13.60m in the triple jump. 

Fifth place was the case for Bovitz in the long jump (6.85m), and Stephen Feig in the pole vault (4.40m).

The Royals compete at the Hamline Invitational on Wednesday, April 1.
