At the 59:04 mark in the second period, senior Kelsey Holmberg (Cambridge, Minn.) scored her second goal of the season with Christa Heiligenthal (So., Ames, Iowa) assisting. For the game the Royals outshot the Kohawks 20-2.

“We played well together and did a good job of utilizing the space they gave us on the flanks,” said Bethel head coach Amanda Maxwell. “We created a lot of chances from different players and two of them found the back of the net. Defensively we were glad to get another hard fought shutout.”

The Royals will return home to face Gustavus Adolphus in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) matchup Saturday morning. The Gusties are currently 2-3 in MIAC play, while the Royals stand alone in second place at 3-1-1. The match will begin at 11 a.m. at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex.
