Royals Drop Match to St. Kate's 3-1

ST. PAUL, Minn. - After a successful weekend tournament in Iowa the Royals returned to Minnesota to compete against MIAC competition. Tonight the Royals were hosted by St. Catherine's down the road in St. Paul.

The Bethel women got out to a good start winning the first set 25-23. From that point St. Catherine's took control winning the next three sets in consecutive order (25-18, 25-20, 25-22).

Statistical leaders for the Royals were Caitie Helle (So., Onamia, Minn.) who had 11 kills, Betsy Naatjes (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) with 13 aces, and Valerie Smith (So., Alexandria, Minn.) who had 26 digs.

The Royals will host St. Olaf College this Friday at 7 p.m. The Ole's enter the match as the top team in the MIAC with a conference record of 4-0, and 17-3 overall. St. Olaf is currently ranked 12th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll.
