ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—Bethel University sophomore outside hitter Sara Scherber was named September 28 MIAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. This is the Royals' second-straight MIAC Offensive Player of the Week selection, and Scherber's first for her career.

Scherber, a native of Rogers, Minnesota, carried the Royals on her shoulders throughout their 3-1 record at the Hope College Tournament on September 25-26 in Holland, Michigan. Scherber finished the four-game swing with a .435 hitting percentage, and 4.3 kills per set (60 total). She played the match of her life in a 3-1 loss to Hope on September 25, where she notched 23 kills and had a .583 hitting percentage. The Royals rebounded with a 3-0 sweep of Bluffton on game two that day.

On day two of the tournament, Schereber had 21 kills and a .513 attack percentage on just one error in a 3-1 triumph of Earlham on September 26. Scherber ended the tournament with 11 kills and a .308 hitting mark in a 3-0 sweep of Ohio Northern on September 26.

Through 17 matches and 58 sets, Scherber ranks second in the MIAC and 25th in NCAA Division III in total kills with 187.

The Royals will open MIAC play at St. Olaf on Wednesday, September 30 at 7 p.m.
