COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The Bethel Royals won their 4th straight MIAC Indoor Championship on Saturday, scoring 140.25 team points. St. Olaf was 2nd with 107.25 points, and Concordia-Moorhead was 3rd with 103 points.
The 4x400m relay team of Sarah Stellmach, Abbie Swenson, Hailey Gregg, and Shalom Sulungaine won the final race of the weekend with their time of 3:56.83.
Bethel earned 2 runner-up finishes on Saturday. Nora Wilhelm took 2nd place in the shot put with her best toss of 12.72m / 41'8.75". Ellie Hernes wrapped up a busy weekend with a 2nd place finish in the triple jump, leaping 11.23m / 36'10.25". Also scoring in the triple jump was Jordan Stanislowski, who placed 6th with a jump of 10.35m / 33'11.5".
Elle Thorson cleared 1.60m / 5'3" in the high jump to take 3rd place overall. Hailey Scholten also scored in the high jump, clearing 1.46m / 4'9.5" in a 4-way tie for 8th place.
Shalom Sulungaine earned a spot on the podium, as she took 3rd in the 600m run with a personal best time of 1:36.64.
The 4x200m relay team of Abbie Swenson, Hannah Kvant, Raina Kaping, and Hailey Gregg ran a season best time of 1:46.60 as they took 3rd place.
Sarah Stellmach took 4th place with an indoor personal best time of 25.55 seconds.Â
Following the conference meet victory, the Royals look ahead to the NCAA Division III National Championships in Rochester, New York on March 14th and 15th. The top 20 individuals and top 12 relay teams in Division III will be invited to compete at nationals. Next weekend Bethel will compete at either Wartburg or UW-LaCrosse for a final qualifying meet.
