NORTHFIELD, MINN.—The Bethel University Royals took second place out of 11 teams with 151 points at the 2026 MIAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Concordia (Minn.) won the 2026 MIAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship with 172 points.
The Royals won seven individual titles on day two.
Michaela Zenz won the 2026 MIAC Women's Outdoor 100 Meter Hurdles Championship with a career-best 14.76. Sixth place was in the cards for Ellie Hernes, who notched a 15.23 in the 100 meter hurdles.
The titles continued to roll courtesy of Shalom Sulungaine, who won the 2026 MIAC Women's Outdoor 400 Meter Dash Championship with a 55.28. Following Sulungaine in the 400 meter dash was Madi Pelowski, who crossed the finish line at 55.67 en route to second place. Ashley Slaybaugh prevailed with a sixth-place time of 57.76 in the 400 meter dash. Sulungaine kept that momentum going with a career-best 25.35 in the 200 meter dash, which put her in third place.
Anna Speratos won the 2026 MIAC Women's Outdoor Hammer Throw Championship with a school-record 55.12m. Nora Larsen's 48.22m in the hammer put her in fourth place, followed by Rachel Wehrman in sixth place with a 47.20m.
Ellie Hernes won her second title of the meet as her school-record 12.04m secured her the 2026 MIAC Women's Outdoor Triple Jump Championship, and put her at No. 9 in NCAA Division III. That defeated the previous school record of 11.83 achieved by Hernes in 2023. Finishing in eighth place in the triple jump was AnnaGrace Nelson, who tallied a leap of 11.08m.
Bethel won a pair of titles in the relays. Ella Paulson, Autumn Maki, Raina Kaping, and Alethia Olson-Skog won the 2026 MIAC Women's Outdoor 4x100 Meter Relay Championship with a 47.38. Madi Pelowski, Ashley Slaybaugh, Hannah Bingham, and Shalom Sulungaine secured the 2026 MIAC Women's Outdoor 4x400 Meter Relay Championship with a 3:49.34.
AnnaGrace Nelson won the 2026 MIAC Women's Outdoor Pole Vault Championship with a 3.63m. Raina Kaping cleared the bar at 3.43m in the pole vault, which locked her fifth place. Emily Pearson's 3.33 in the pole vault put her in seventh place.
The shot put saw Nora Larsen lock fourth place with a 13.32m, while Rachel Wehrman took seventh place with a 12.31m.
Hannah Bingham's career-best 1:03.36 in the 400 meter hurdles was good enough for fourth place. Sixth place was the case for Brianna Hexum, who notched a 1:04.82 in the 400 meter hurdles. Adyson Gerbig wasn't far behind with a seventh-place time of 1:04.91 in the 400 meter hurdles.
The 100 meter dash resulted in a fifth-place time of 12.31 for Alethia Olson-Skog. Autumn Maki followed in sixth place with a 12.32 in the 100 meter dash, while Ella Paulson's 12.37 put her in eighth place.
Lucy Upton highlighted the Royals in the 5000 meter run, where she finished with an 18:16.24 en route to fifth place.
The Royals will compete in various last chance meets in the coming weeks with hopes of qualifying for the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship in La Crosse, Wisconsin on May 21-23.
