DAY ONE RESULTS
NORTHFIELD, MINN.—The Bethel University women are in sixth place out of 10 teams with 17 points through day one of the 2026 MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship, hosted by St. Olaf in Northfield, Minnesota on Friday. Concordia (Minn.) sits in the driver's seat with 105 points after day one.
Ellie Hernes won the 2026 MIAC Women's Outdoor Long Jump Championship with a 5.62m, 0.01m off from tying the school record.
Rachel Wehrman's eighth-place toss of 39.23m in the discus gave Bethel one point.
A trio of Royals qualified for the 100 meter dash finals after Alethia Olson-Skog (12.40) took fourth place, Autumn Maki (12.43) notch sixth place, and Ella Paulson (12.45) claim seventh place.
The 100 meter hurdle prelims also saw three Royals qualify for finals courtesy of Michaela Zenz's first-place time of 14.55, Ellie Hernes's fifth-place time of 14.97, and Hannah Bingham's seventh-place mark of 14.99.
Second place was the case for Shalom Sulungaine in the 200 meter dash prelims, where she crossed the finish line at 25.21. Sulungaine also took second place in the 400 meter dash prelims with a 56.80, which trailed Madi Pelowski's first-place time of 55.99. Ashley Slaybaugh also qualified for finals in the 400 meter dash prelims, where she notched a 58.47.
The 400 meter hurdle prelims resulted in a third-place time of 1:02.97 for Hannah Bingham. Brianna Hexum followed in sixth place with a 1:05.53, followed by Adyson Gerbig in eighth place with a 1:05.79.
The 4x800 meter relay team of Kiara Gentz, Emerson Mullen, AnnaGrace Nelson, and Chloe Erickson register a seventh-place time of 9:48.33.
The Royals will embark on day two of the 2026 MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship tomorrow, Saturday, May 9.
