BOULDER CITY, Nev. – After 36 holes of play the Bethel University men's golf team sits ninth at the 2024 NCAA Championships. The Royals have carded a two-day total of a five-over-par 581 (282-299), making the cut as one of the top 18 teams to advance for the final two rounds.
Bethel sat in a tie for sixth place following the opening 18 holes where they fired a six-under-par 282 at Boulder Creek Golf Club. That mark tied the third-lowest 18-hole score in program history. Round two was played at The Legacy Golf Club where BU carded an 11-over-par 299, which was the fifth lowest score on that course Wednesday.
The Royals tee off at 10 a.m. central time Thursday for round three.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Royals have carded the second most birdies in the field with 37.
David Morton leads the squad with nine birdies, tied for third-most among the field.

Conor Schubring is tied for 20th with a one-under par 143. In the opening round, he was four under through the first nine holes as the Royals started on 10. He shot two over on the front nine as his five total birdies helped him card a two-under-par 70. On a different course in round two, he shot a one-over-par 73 backed by three birdies and a tough double bogey on the par-five 17th hole that played 495 yards.

Will Karkoc is also tied for 20th in a one-under-par 143. After being tied for 33rd following 18 holes with a one-under-par 71, he climbed up 13 spots after shooing an even-par 72 on the second day. He capped out Wednesday with back-to-back birdies on the par-five 17 and par-four 18.
