Royals Win Gustie Spring Invite, Beltman Individual Champion

HASTINGS, Minn. – Junior Laura Beltman carded a nine-over-par 153 to win the individual title, her first career medalist finish, at the Gustie Spring Invite this weekend at Emerald Greens Golf Course. Behind three top 10 individual finishers, the Royals won the event by 13 strokes over the host Gusties carding a 637 (328-309) in the two-day event.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• BU lead the field with 15 birdies on the weekend along with leading the par-four and par-five scoring.
• Despite a couple of double bogeys in round one, Beltman shot a five-over-par 77 to stand atop the leaderboard. Through the first nine holes on day two she was two over before notching a birdie on the par-five eighth green. Five pars and three bogeys to close it out landed her a season-low 76 to win it.
Sophie Brantner had her first-career top five finish tying for third with a 157. She shot an 81 in round one before besting it with a 76 in round two thanks to back-to-back birdies on the third and fourth green.
Greta McArthur led the field with six birdies as she finished tied for eighth with a 161 (82-79).
