HAM LAKE, Minn. – The Bethel University men's golf team opened its 2023-24 season with a second-place finish at the Augsburg Fall Invitational. The Royals carded an 11-over-par 587 (301-286) finish one stroke behind the medalists in Augsburg and one stroke ahead of Concordia.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Conor Schubring led the Royals with a two-under-par 142 for the weekend, matching his collegiate 36-hole best, where he tied for second. In round one he shot an even 72 with three birdies. On Sunday he went two-under with a 70 where he shot one under on both the front and back nine.

Jacob Hall kicked off his junior year with a sixth-place finish, just his second career top 10 finish, shooting a career-best one-over-par 145. After shooting a 75 on day he shaved off five strokes matching a career-best 70 in round two where he carded three birdies.

Will Karkoc rounded out Bethel's top-10 finishers placing in a tie for ninth with a six-over-par 150 (77-73.)
• Leading Bethel's "B" squad was
Zach Owen tying for seventh with a 36-hole career-best 146. It was his first collegiate top-10 finish after shooting a collegiate-best 72 in the opening round with five birdies. He shot a two-over-par 74 on Sunday.
