Jill Erickson and freshman
Sophie Brantner 11th place finish paced the Bethel University women's golf team to a third-place finish at the St. Kate's Fall Invite. The Royals carded a 625 (311-314) just six strokes behind Carleton. St. Kate's won the invite with a 599.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Erickson carded a career-best 153, besting her previous low mark by seven strokes. Carding a birdie and an eagle on the par-five 10th green, she totaled a career-best four-over-par 76 in the opening round. Sunday she carded a 77, finishing strong on the back nine at two-over.
• Brantner in her fourth collegiate event, had her best finish carding a season-best 153. She opened with a 77 on Saturday before shooting 76 on day two where she carded three birdies on the back nine.

Laura Beltman finished 20th with a 159 while
Greta McArthur tied for 21st with a 160.

The Royals take the Homecoming weekend off as they prepare for the MIAC Championships set for Oct. 7-9 at Royal Golf Club in Lake, Elmo.
