HASTINGS, Minn. – The Bethel University women's golf team notched a fifth-place finish in the 15-team Division III Classic this past weekend at Emerald Greens Golf Course. The Royals carded a 643 (323-320) in the 36-hole event finishing two strokes back of St. Olaf and 13 of third place finisher Gustavus Adolphus. Carleton won the event with a 609 with Wisconsin-La Crosse placing second with a 627.
Junior
Laura Beltman was the Royals top finisher placing in a tie for 14th with a 158 for the weekend. Junior
Greta McArthur placed inside the top 20 tying for 17th with a 160.
Christina Scheid rounded out the top three placing in a tie for 25th shooting an 81 both days for a 162.
Beltman shot a 79 for both rounds and climbed up seven spots in the second round. McArthur also climbed seven spots on the final day shooting an 80 in both rounds.
Bethel's "B" squad placed 13th and paced by
Madison Doeden who shot a 162 for the weekend. She started with an 85 before having a nice bounce back round on Sunday carding a 77 that included two birdies.

The Royals are back in action this weekend (Sept. 23-24) at the St. Kate's Invite in what is their final tune up before the MIAC Championships set for Oct. 7-9 at Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo.
