McArthur Finishes Seventh at WashU Invite, Tollefson Places 12th

CRESCENT, Mo. – Sophomore Greta McArthur and senior Anna Tollefson each competed at this WashU Spring Invite this past weekend at Crescent Farms Golf Club. McArthur came away with a seventh-place finish in the 36-hole event while Tollefson finished 12th and was one stroke back of cracking the top 10.

McArthur shot a nine-over-par 153 for the weekend. She opened with a six-over-par 78 before taking off three strokes and moving three spots up the leaderboard finishing with a 75. In round one she tallied two birdies going three-over on the front and back nine. On day two she started on the No. 10 tee box with a double bogey that followed with four bogeys on the back nine.

She bounced back nicely on the front stretch with five straight parts before birding the par-five sixth hole and par-four seventh. Two more pars and she finished the front nine two under. Her five birdies tied for third most in the field and she was third on the par three holes where she shot one-under-par.

Tollefson finished with a 13-over-par 157 for the event. She opened with a six-over-par 78 on Saturday thanks to a two-over on the back nine that ended with a birdie on the par-four 18th hole. On day two she had to overcome an early triple and double bogey that put her six over through eight holes. A birdie on the par-five No. 2 aided the front nine scorecard that finished one-over-par.

Bethel will be off the links competitively this weekend. They return April 15-16 at the Gustie Spring Invite at Emerald Greens Golf Course in Hastings.
