SARTELL, Minn. – The Bethel University women's golf team notched a third-place finish in its opening weekend of the 2022-23 season. BU, who received votes in this week's WGCA Top 25 polls, shot a 633 (318-315) finishing three strokes behind St. Catherine and 10 strokes behind the top team of Carleton.
 
The Royals "B" squad finished seventh in the 13 team field.
 
Reigning MIAC Player of the Year Anna Tollefson and Greta McArthur, playing in her first Bethel event after transferring from St. Catherine, both tied for second place on the individual leaderboard carding 153s.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bethel was second in par three scoring with a +14 and tied with Carleton carding a field-leading 94 pars
• Tollefson started the weekend out strong with four birdies carding a 74 on Saturday. Tack on three more birdies Sunday to bring her weekend total to seven. She led the field in par five scoring going three-under.
• McArthur jumped up nine spots after carding an 81 on the opening day. She started the second round with a birdie on the par-four 356-yard first hole. She went even on both the front and back nine on Sunday
• Muir matched her career 36-hole best 160
• Sibell carded a career-low 162
