HAM LAKE, Minn. – With two golfers claiming top-30 finishes in a competitive field, the Bethel University men's golf team finished in a tie for seventh out of 18 teams at the Augsburg Fall Invitational. BU entered the day fourth after shooting a 310 in the first round before shooting a 311 on the final day for a weekend total of 621.
Freshman
Ian Stelter notched Bethel's best individual finish tying for 12th with a 151 in his first collegiate tournament. He was second in the field tapping in 26 pars. Stelter had a steady day shooting a three-over 39 on both the front and back nine. He shot a 78 on Sunday after shooting a 73 on the first 18 holes.
Graduate student
Noah Frobom finished tied for 24th shooting a 155 for the weekend. Frobom shot a 77 on the day, a stroke better than his first-round tally.
Freshman
Jack Wellen had the Royals biggest improvement from round one. He took of off seven strokes from round one shooting a 75 on day two. A pair of birdies on the back nine allowed Wellen to go even after shooting a three-over on the front nine.
