In dramatic fashion the Bethel University women's soccer team
picked up the program's first-ever MIAC Playoff win defeating third-seeded St. Catherine 3-2 in overtime. The win gave sixth-seeded BU its 14th win of the season which was a program-record, defeating the previous mark of 13 that they recorded the season before.
Getting past two defenders was sophomore
Rachel Waterman in the 94th minute. Making a good push to the box she fired one off from about nine yards out sending it pass the SCU keeper and into the far bottom corner for the golden goal. It was Waterman's second goal of the day after she converted a penalty kick in the first half. Waterman made history tying the program's single-season record with 14 goals.
Senior goalie
Kaylee Peterson was lights out between the posts stopping a career-high 16 shots. She finished the year with 209 career saves, elevating her to fifth all-time and leaves Arden Hills with a single-season record 10 shutouts.
The Royals tallied 59 goals for a single-season record surpassing their previous mark of 56 which was tallied in 2009. Allowing only 15 goals, the Royals tied the program record from 2009.
Among other notable accomplishments this year, the Royals had the best start in program history at 8-0. They also recorded the program single-season record for most shutouts in a season with 12.
It was also the first time in program history in which BU had three goal scorers reach double digits.

Lauren Davis tallied 11.

Brooke Ogne departs ninth all-time on the Royals point scoring list with 18 goals and 16 assists for 52 career points. Her 16 assists ties
Maggie Sipe for third all-time and the 18 goals ranks 10th.
