For the second straight season the Bethel University football team finished in the Top 25. Ranked No. 23 in the final D3football.com poll following an 8-2 season, the Royals extended their streak to 17 weeks straight in the top 25. A 5-0 mark at home has helped BU to a 10-1 record in front of its home crowd over the last two seasons that has seen them go 19-4 overall.
A total
of 14 Royals were honored with All-MIAC honors while
Jack Fiedler,
Cale Ferrin,
Mike Delich and
John Sfire were named to the first team. The four First Team selections grows Bethel's total in the 31 seasons of Head CoachÂ
Steve Johnson's tenure to 170. In addition to MIAC honors, free safety
Cale Ferrin was named to the Second Team All-West Region.
In the record books, sophomore quarterback Jaren Roste entered the top 10 in career passing yards with 3,814. Senior wide receiver
Drew Larsen ends his Bethel career seventh all-time with 1,879 receiving yards.
Danny Munoz became Bethel's seventh consecutive Allstate AFCA Good Works Team honoree. Munoz brings BU's total selection to 13 which is the fourth most all-tine in any division and tied for the most among non-D1 (FBS) schools.
