RESULTS
NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Bethel Royals men's track and field team competed in their final regular season meet of their indoor campaign. "We always want to finish strong in everything we do," said Head Coach
Andrew Rock. "Our men did a good job of competing hard to get qualifying marks for the conference meet and we saw lots of season bests."
Nolan Metz and
Brandon Loverude both ran season best times in the 400m. Metz took 2
nd place with 51.74 and Loverude took 3
rd in 52.44. Loverude also took 3
rd place in the 200m with an indoor best 23.20.
Jett Hutton-Lau ran a terrific 60m hurdle race to place 6
th. His time of 9.17 is a lifetime best.
Ike Mendel ran the mile in a personal best 4:28.20 to place 7
th overall. Freshman Aidan St. George broke the 9-minute barrier in the 3000m run. His time of 8:59.05 placed him 7
th.
The field events were well represented on Saturday.
Gabe Irons continued his streak of personal bests in the weight throw. His toss of 51'10"/15.80m is the 4
th best toss in program history and placed him 3
rd in the meet. Irons also placed 5
th in the shot put with a season best of 43'3.25"/13.19m
Abe Schlegel had a bid day in the pole vault, setting a personal best of 12'5.5"/3.80m, earning 4
th place. Multi-eventer
Micah Smith also set a lifetime best by clearing 10'0"/3.05m and placing 7
th. Fellow multi-eventer
Lukas Walton placed 6
th in the high jump with his clearance of 1.76m/5'9.25".
The Royals enter their championship season next week as they run, jump, and throw in the MIAC Indoor Championships. The conference meet will be held at St. John's University on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday February 27
