#9 | Softball Puts up Record Breaking Numbers
Whoever updated the softball record book this off season had their work cut out from them. The Bethel University softball team recorded eight single-season records, one single-game game record and tied two single-season records. Individually the 2019 Royals made their mark in the individual single season records with Allie Fauth, Alexa Hanowski and Amanda Gemuenden highlighting the group putting up top 10 single season batting averages. Jamie Axelberg was a machine at the plate blasting eight home runs – the fourth most in a single season for the Royals – and drove in a program single-season record 50 runs. During its best start in program history at 15-1, Bethel put up a program best 12-game winning streak surpassing the previous 11-game mark from the 2013 season.

Single-season records recorded during the 2019 campaign were batting average (.374), hits (419), doubles (74), slugging percentage (.520), stolen bases (56), fielding percentage (.960) and winning percentage (.658). In terms of single-game records, the Royals smacked 23 hits against Minnesota-Morris on March 22. They also tied the single-game record of 23 RBIs and six doubles in five inning victory in Clermont, Fla.
