ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Bethel women led the Pipers by one after 45 minutes of play, but it was not enough as Hamline stormed back in the second half. Hamline found the net twice in the final 45 to defeat Bethel 2-1.
Anne Fazio (Jr., Holland, Mich.) got the Royals on the board with just over 12 minutes off the clock, scoring on an assist from
Leah Hardie (Sr., Ankeny, Iowa). The Bethel women and the Pipers each had 11 shots in the contest.
Hamline got on the board in the eighty first minute on a Courtney McMoore goal, and then momen'ts later would get their second goal of the game on a penalty kick as a result of a red card on Bethel's
Kate Nygren (So., Northfield, Minn.).
Freshman
Maria Guidarelli (Fr., Elk River, Minn.) got the start at goal keeper Saturday for the Royals, grabbing three saves in her 90 minutes in the net.
With the loss Bethel drops to 4-2-1 overall and 0-2 in the MIAC. The Royals will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Saint Mary's to take on the Cardinals.
