MOORHEAD, Minn.
- Bethel University's women's soccer team finished with a 2-2 tie with Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday afternoon. They notched their second goal late in regulation to send things into extra time.  BU's record now sits at 7-4-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the MIAC.  Moorhead is 8-1-4 and 4-1-3 in the MIAC. Both teams played to a 2-2 double-overtime draw last season as well.

The game's goals went back and forth throughout regulation, the Cobbers scoring first, followed quickly by the Royals in the first half.  The second half goals went in the same order, with Concordia pulling ahead at the 66 minute mark and Bethel tying the game with just three minutes to play at the 87 minute mark.

Blythe Whealy (Fr., Wayzata, Minn.) took credit for Bethel's first goal, taking a feed from Anne Fazio (Jr., Holland, Mich.) for a 1-1 tie.  The goal came just 19 seconds after the Cobbers put a ball in the net, deflating the momentum of the home team.  The squads played scoreless for the remainder of the first half.

Cobber Gina Weiss gave her squad a 2-1 lead 20 minutes into the second half.  With time winding down, the Royals got their offense moving and Fazio again connected with a teammate for a score.  This time it was Sophie Christiansen (Sr., Portland, Ore.) who booted the ball into the net and sent the game into overtime.  After two extra periods and twenty additional minutes of play, both teams conceded to the tie.

Taking the net for the Royals was Alyssa Riggs (Sr., Columbia Heights, Minn.), who made six saves.  Christiansen had a team high three shots on goal.
