ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The flood gates have opened on the Bethel University Men's Soccer team. The Royals continued to find the back of the net Tuesday afternoon in their conference opener against Saint Mary's University, as they cruised to a 3-1 victory.
For the second time in two games, the Royals got on the board first thanks to
David Swenson (Sr., Ham Lake, Minn.), who found the back of the net early in the first half of play. Swenson was assisted by
Brandon Peplinski (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) on the goal.
Entering into the second half of play, the Royals held a 1-0 lead, but soon received some much need insurance when
Zach Hurd (Sr., Portage, Mich.) notched his first goal of the season, this time the assist going to Swenson. A mere two minutes later,
Brent Neihart (Jr., Prairie Village, Kan.) added another Royal goal pushing the score to 3-0. The lead proved to be insurmountable for the Cardinals offense, as the Royals would go onto win 3-1
Bethel continues their home stand this weekend when they take on Hamline University at the Ona Orth Complex at 11 a.m.
