ARDEN HILLS, Minn. -
The Bethel Royals picked up their second straight conference win tonight with a 65-52 victory over the visiting Augsburg Auggies. Starting center Scotti Moats (Fr., Waconia, Minn.) led the Royals as she scored a season-high 20 points while grabbing 12 rebounds for her second double-double in her last four games.

The Royals trailed just once in tonight's contest as they handed the Auggies their 10th straight loss. Only ahead by three points at the break, 31-28, the Royals came out and attacked the basket in the second half, getting to the free throw line 27 times compared to just seven in the first half. Free throws proved to be the biggest difference in the game as the Royals amassed 21 points from the line in preserving tonight's win.

Kristi Nye (So., Nashville, Tenn.) finished the night with 16 points on five for eight shooting from the field, and Shana Grejtak (Jr., Franklin, Minn.) tied Moats for the team lead with 12 rebounds while also adding six points. It was Amy Werner's (Fr., Three Lakes, Wis.) turn to provide a spark off the bench tonight as she scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds in just 13 minutes of work.

Neither team shot extraordinarily well as a whole, with the Royals shooting just 35% from the floor and the Auggies barely shooting over 27%, and both teams struggled to find their stroke from behind the arc as the Auggies finished 1-9 and the Royals 2-14.

Tonight's win moves the Royals to 4-8 overall and 3-6 in MIAC play while the Auggies fall to 1-11 overall, 1-8 in the MIAC. The Royals, now winners of three of their last four, will be back in action this Saturday as they try to extend their streak to three as they host the Gustavus Adolphus Golden Gusties for a 1 p.m. game at the Robertson Center.
