ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The No. 23 Bethel University women's basketball team will face Coe College in the 2025-26 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament Second Round at the Robertson Center today, Saturday, March 7 at 7:45 p.m. The Royals advanced following an 81-73 victory over Millsaps College in the first round yesterday, Friday, March 6.

The winner of this contest will face the winner between Washington & Lee and Christopher Newport on Friday, March 13.

NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY
For the fourth time in school history and for the second-straight season, the Royals have advanced to the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament Second Round. They also accomplished that feat in 1993-94, 1995-96, and 2024-25.

The Royals are making their eighth overall, and second-straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament. They qualified for the field in 1993-94, 1994-95, 1995-96, 1996-97, 2014-15, 2019-20, and 2024-25. This marks the fourth time Bethel has hosted NCAA Tournament games at the Robertson Center, also doing so in 2019-20, 1995-96, and 1993-94.

Bethel has a 6-7 all-time record in the NCAA Division III Tournament following last night's victory over Millsaps.

LAST TIME OUT/SERIES RECORD
Bethel defeated Coe 88-84 OT in the only matchup between the schools in a neutral-site bout in Wisconsin Dells on December 20, 2025.

  • The Royals qualified for the 2025-26 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament following a 62-55 road victory over top-seed Concordia (Minn.) in the MIAC Championship Game on February 28, which earned them the automatic qualifier. That marked BU's second MIAC Tournament Title, also winning the crown in 2020.
  • Their .268 three-point percentage defense leads the MIAC while they rank among the nation's top 30 teams with a .427 field goal percentage (29th), a .764 free throw percentage (seventh), and 15.32 free throws made per game (13th) following last night's win.
  • Emily Erickson paces the MIAC with a .551 field goal percentage (17th NCAA Division III), 172 free throw attempts (24th NCAA Division III), 193 field goals, and 143 free throws made (ninth NCAA Division III). Her 18.6 points per game ranks second in the MIAC, while her 540 total points paces the conference and ranks 11th in the country as of today.
  • Colette Duininck leads the MIAC and sits at No. 11 in NCAA Division III with 134 assists. Her 82 steals also paces the conference, while her 1.60 assist/turnover ratio is third conference-wide as of today.
  • Junior forward Emily Erickson, graduate student forward Elly Schmitz, and senior guard Colette Duininck were each named to the 2025-26 MIAC Women's Basketball All-Conference Team.
  • In addition, senior forward Alli Born, senior guard Rosalie Penke, and junior forward Cally Peterson were each named to the 2025-26 MIAC Women's Basketball All-Playoff Team for their performances over the past three games.

  • The Kohawks are in the midst of their first ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament. They advanced to the second round with a 69-51 victory over UW-Platteville in the first round at the Robertson Center yesterday, March 6.
  • Coe leads the American Rivers Conference and ranks among the country's top 30 teams with a .457 field goal percentage (fourth NCAA Division III), a .758 free throw percentage (11th NCAA Division III), and a .355 three point percentage (fifth NCAA Division III).
  • Audrie Helmrichs leads all of NCAA Division III with a .678 (187-of-276) field goal percentage.
  • Caydee Kirkham is 13th in the country with 196 field goals, 14th with a .875 free throw percentage, and 15th with 526 points.
