LEXINGTON, VA.—The No. 23 Bethel University women's basketball team will face host school No. 3 Washington & Lee University in the 2025-26 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament Sweet Sixteen at the Holekamp Gym in Lexington, Virginia on Friday, March 13 at 8 p.m. (ET). The winner will face either Denison or John Carroll in the 2025-26 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament Elite Eight on Saturday, March 14 at 8 p.m. (ET). The Royals are riding an eight-game win streak following an 81-73 victory over Millsaps in the first round, and a 57-48 decision over Coe in the second round at the Robertson Center on March 6-7.

NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY
For the second time in school history and for the first time since 1995-96, the Royals have advanced to the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament Sweet Sixteen. The Royals are 1-0 in their lone NCAA Division III Sweet Sixteen Appearance with a 96-77 victory at Randolph-Macon, also in Virginia. That victory secured Bethel their only Elite Eight appearance, where they dropped a 65-57 decision to St. Thomas.
The Royals are making their eighth overall, and second-straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament. They qualified for the field in 1993-94, 1994-95, 1995-96, 1996-97, 2014-15, 2019-20, and 2024-25. Bethel hosted NCAA Tournament games at the Robertson Center for the fourth time in program history last weekend, also doing so in 2019-20, 1995-96, and 1993-94.
BU is 7-7 all-time record in the NCAA Division III Tournament following last weekend's victories over Millsaps and Coe.

- The Royals qualified for their eighth overall NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament following a 62-55 road victory over top-seed Concordia (Minn.) in the MIAC Championship Game on February 28, which earned them the automatic qualifier. That marked BU's second MIAC Tournament Title, also winning the crown in 2020.
- Their .263 three-point percentage defense leads the MIAC while they rank among the nation's top 30 teams with a .426 field goal percentage (29th), a .762 free throw percentage (ninth), and 15.13 free throws made per game (14th) following last weekend's first and second round wins.
- Emily Erickson paces the MIAC with a .541 field goal percentage (17th NCAA Division III), 174 free throw attempts (18th NCAA Division III), 193 field goals, and 143 free throws made (ninth NCAA Division III). Her 18.3 points per game ranks second in the MIAC, while her 548 total points paces the conference and ranks 12th in the country heading into the Sweet Sixteen.
- Colette Duininck leads the MIAC and sits at No. 9 in NCAA Division III with 140 assists. Her 85 steals also paces the conference, while her 1.57 assist/turnover ratio is third conference-wide as of today.
- Junior forward Emily Erickson, graduate student forward Elly Schmitz, and senior guard Colette Duininck were each named to the 2025-26 MIAC Women's Basketball All-Conference Team.
- In addition, senior forward Alli Born, senior guard Rosalie Penke, and junior forward Cally Peterson were each named to the 2025-26 MIAC Women's Basketball All-Playoff Team.

- The Generals are riding a 30-game win streak, marking the most single season wins in program history.
- This marks the second time in three seasons Washington & Lee will play in the Sweet Sixteen, while hosting the second weekend of the tournament for the first time in program history.
- The Generals are among the top 30 teams in the country with 26.6 bench points per game (30th), 5.1 blocks per game (ninth), a .327 field goal percentage defense (11th), 12.9 fouls per game (24th), 2,209 points (fifth), a 13.4 rebounding margin (fourth), 47.80 rebounds per game (10th), and a 21.0 scoring margin (11th).
- Mary Schleusner leads the country with 27 double doubles and sits among the country's top five players with 610 points (fourth), 482 rebounds (second), 16.6 rebounds per game (fourth), and 242 field goals (third). She has 2436 points and 1946 rebounds over 120 career games played in her four-year career.
