ST. PAUL, Minn. - After 90 minutes of regulation play, the Bethel Royals and Hamline Pipers were stuck at a 0-0 tie. Nothing changed after two 10-minute overtime periods, as the two teams remained deadlocked without a single goal on the scoreboard.
The Royals managed to out-shoot the Pipers by a margin of 23-12, with Bethel placing nine shots on goal to Hamline's five. Bethel pressed hard in the second overtime, firing four shots, and two on goal, but to no avail.
Andreas Scott (Jr., Cedar, Minn.) led the charge with three shots on goal, though none of them found the back of the net.
Nick Kantor (Sr., Buffalo, Minn.) recorded his third shutout of the season, making five saves on the afternoon. Kamal Abda led the Pipers with two shots on goal, while Zach Nelson stayed busy in front of the Hamline net by recording nine saves.
