ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The Bethel University men's track & field team had individuals compete at both the UW-La Crosse Mark Guthrie Invitational, and the UW-River Falls Winter Classic on Saturday.
UW-La Crosse Mark Guthrie Invitational (Results)
Phil Conant registered a third-place toss of 17.50m in the weight throw, while Timmy Ball took fifth in the shot put with a 15.41m. The third-place trend continued courtesy of Grant Nelson's 48.08Â in the 400 meter dash, which ranks fifth in the country. Nelson, along with the 4x400 meter relay team of Elliott Kent, Victor Lelinga, and Caleb Ketterling clocked in a 3:17.12, which puts them at No. 3 in NCAA Division III.
The Royals posted a pair of seventh-place marks in the jumps as Nick Bovitz notched a 13.57m in the triple, which puts him at No. 3 in the MIAC, while Luc Swanson had a 1.76m in the high.
Logan Swanson registered fifth place in both the 60 meter hurdle prelims (8.44) and finals (8.35), which moves him to second in the MIAC. Pryce Ferrin followed with a seventh-place time of 8.44 in the prelims, and an eighth-place mark of 10.00 in the finals.
UW-River Falls Winter Classic (Results)
Sixth place was in the cards for Evan Dallas in the mile (4:37.94), as well as Weston Catton (9:07.97) in the 3000 meter run. The 800 meter run resulted in an eighth-place time of 2:00.64 for Michael Schultz, and a ninth-place mark of 2:01.66 for TJ Strubbe. Ninth place was the case for Joshua Graske in the pole vault, where he cleared the bar at 4.00m. Alex Palm kept the ninth-place trend alive with a 23.90 in the 200 meter dash.
The Royals will compete at the UW-Stout Quad on Friday, February 14.
