DAY ONE RESULTS
NORTHFIELD, MINN.—The Bethel University men are in third place out of nine teams with 46.5 points through day one of the 2026 MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship, hosted by St. Olaf in Northfield, Minnesota on Friday. Saint John's sits in the driver's seat with 64 points after day one.
Timmy Ball won the 2026 MIAC Men's Outdoor Discus Title with a 52.56m. Philip Conant followed with a 48.21m in the discus, good enough for fourth place.
The long jump saw Brayden Waldron notch a career best 6.80m, which put him in fourth place. Nick Bovitz's 6.65m in the long jump put him in seventh place.
Fourth place was also the case for Stephen Feig in the pole vault, where he cleared the bar at 4.50m.
The 4x800 meter relay team of Michael Schultz, Hootie Hage, TJ Strubbe, and Victor Lelinga took second place with a school-record 7:41.88. This defeated the previous school-record mark of 7:46.16 accomplished by Matt Berens, Connor Haugen, Brent Nelson, and Zach Haskins in 2014.
Hage kept the second-place trend going in the 1500 meter run, where he crossed the finish line at 3:53.44.
Logan Swanson registered a first-place time of 14.61 in the 110 meter hurdle prelims, which ranks 38th in NCAA Division III. Pryce Ferrin followed in second place with a 14.89, while Blake Viesselman's fifth-place time of 15.22 also secured him a spot in the finals.Â
A pair of Royals qualified for the 100 meter dash finals as Cameron McConnell took fourth place in the prelims with a 10.74, while Landen Liu claimed seventh place with a 10.90.
The 400 meter hurdle prelims saw Viesselman take second place with a 55.16, and Trevor Stundahl notch eighth place with a 56.48.
Grant Nelson sat atop the 200 meter dash prelims with a 21.16. Cameron McConnell's 21.58 in the 200 meter dash prelims was good enough for fourth place. Elliott Kent (21.89) and Stephen Feig (21.97) also qualified for the 200 meter dash finals after they finished in seventh and eighth place in the prelims.
The 400 meter dash prelims saw six Royals qualify for finals courtesy of Elliott Kent (48.56) in second place, Grant Nelson (48.63) in third place, Caleb Ketterling (48.98) in fourth place, Brody Schelhaas (49.82) in fifth place, Tony Haack (49.95) in eighth place, and Will Sportel (50.01) in ninth place.
