RESULTS
La Crosse, Wis. - The Bethel Royals secured several national qualifying marks at the UW-LaCrosse Final Qualifier on Wednesday. The top-22 individual performers and top-16 relays will qualify for the NCAA Championships held next week.
David Myres ran a personal best 52.56 in the 400H to take 4th place and solidify him as the 16th fastest in Division III. The Royals now have 3 athletes in qualifying position in the 400H - Myres (16th), Josh Thomsen (8th), and Jayson Ekiyor (2nd).
The women's 4x400m relay team of Kelsie Sealock, Abbie Swenson, Hailey Gregg, and Shalom Sulungaine ran the 2nd fastest time in program history - 3:45.80 - to earn 2nd place, and rank them 9th in Division III. The race was highlighted by Sulungaine's anchor leg split of 53.52 seconds, the fastest in program history.
Sealock raced earlier in the evening, winning the 100H in 14.05. Sealock is ranked 3rd in Division III with her season best time of 13.80.
Timmy Ball took 2nd place in the discus, throwing 51.24m / 168'1", just 1 cm behind his personal best from last week. Ball is currently ranked 19th in Division III.
Anna Speratos earned 3rd place in the hammer throw, with a toss of 51.34m / 168'5". Speratos is currently 17th in Division III with her personal best mark from last week.
Victor Lelinga won the 800m, leading wire-to-wire in a time of 1:51.77 as he held off St. Olaf's Lance Nemecek by 0.09 seconds.
Hannah Kvant ran a personal best time of 62.17 for 3rd place in the 400H. Her time ranks her 25th in Division III, and is now the 2nd fastest at 400H in program history.
Jireh Babalola earned a win in the 100m dash, running 12.05 seconds. Babalola also raced to 5th place in the 200m dash with a time of 25.20.
Cameron McConnell took 2nd place in the 200m dash with a time of 21.54.
The NCAA Championship qualifiers will be finalized Friday evening. The NCAA Division III Championships will take place Thursday, May 22nd through Saturday, May 24th at the SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio.
