RESULTS
ROCHESTER, NY - The Bethel Royals qualified 3 individuals and 1 relay for the finals at day 1 of the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Jayson Ekiyor won his heat of the 60H in a program record time of 7.88 seconds. Ekiyor is the 3rd seed going into the finals. Josh Thomsen took 11th place with his time of 8.14.
Landen Liu also won his heat of the 60m dash. Liu ran 6.69 seconds and is the 2nd seed in Saturday's final.
Grant Nelson ran a season best time of 47.87 to qualify for the finals on Saturday.
The 4x400m relay team of Jacob Parent, Thomsen, Victor Lelinga, and Nelson won their heat in a season best time of 3:14.85.
Parent took 12th place in the 200m with a time of 22.01.
On the women's side, Elle Thorson wrapped up her career by placing 17th in the pentathlon, scoring 3,302 points. Thorson ran 9.26 in the 60H, cleared 1.57m / 5'1.75" in the high jump, threw 11.26m / 36'11.75" in the shot put, leaped 5.03m / 16'6", and ran 2:40.12 in the 800m
The 4x400m relay team of Sarah Stellmach, Abbie Swenson, Hailey Gregg, and Shalom Sulungaine ended their indoor season by placing 9th as they ran 3:52.78.
The Royals will compete again on Saturday, March 15th in the finals of the NCAA Indoor Championships.
