RESULTS - U of M | Gene Glader Classic
ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Royals competed at the University of Minnesota and hosted the Gene Glader Classic over the weekend, highlighted by national level performances and 8 event victories.
Elle Hernes jumped a season best 11.48m / 37'8" in the triple jump to take 2nd place. That mark ranks her 24th in Division III.
Sarah Stellmach led a pack of Royals in the 400m dash. Stellmach ran an indoor personal best of 58.24 seconds to take 2nd place. Hailey Gregg took 4th place with a season best time of 59.70. Abbie Swenson ran 60.09 to take 5th place, just ahead of Hannah Kvant who took 6th in 60.15.
Ellie Thorson had a terrific day in the jumps. Thorson cleared a season best 1.60m / 5'3" in the high jump to take 4th place. She also jumped a season best 5.26m / 17'3.25" in the long jump to take 6th place.
Emily Pearson jumped a season best 3.44m / 11'3.5"Â in the pole vault to take 7th place.
Anna Speratos placed 7th in the weight throw with her best toss of 16.39m / 53'9.25".
Shalom Sulungaine ran a season best 2:18.31 to take 8th place in the 800m run.
Hannah Bingham took 8th place in the 60H, and ran a season best of 9.39 seconds in the preliminary round.
The Royals won 8 events at their annual home meet, the Gene Glader Classic.
Next week, the Royals will compete at the MIAC Indoor Championships, hosted by St. John's. The Royals are the 3-time reigning team champions. Competition begins on Thursday, February 27th with the pentathlon, while the main portion of the championships will be run on Friday the 28th and Saturday, March 1st.Â
