ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The Bethel University women opened their 2026 outdoor season at the Redlands Invitational in Redlands, California on Friday, The Royals didn't record a team score, while George Fox won the Redlands Invitational Championship with 24 points.
The Royals achieved the top spot on multiple podiums courtesy of Anna Hay's career-best 4:57.41 in the 1500 meter run, Ellie Hernes' 11.55m in the triple jump and 5.63m in the long jump, as well as Anna Speratos's 52.98m in the hammer throw. Hernes' 5.63m in the long jump tied a school record achieved by Anne Habbena in 2000.Â
Hernes kept that momentum going in the 100 meter hurdles, where she notched fourth place with a 15.44. Fourth place was also the case for the 4x100 meter relay team of Autumn Maki, Raina Kaping, Ella Paulson, and Alethia Olson-Skog (48.61). Stanislowski took fifth place in the long jump (5.41m), while Raina Kaping notched seventh place in the pole vault (3.20m).
Second place was in the cards for the 4x400 meter relay team of Kiara Gentz, Elliana Leach, Estle Nelson, and Emerson Mullen (4:31.27). Hannah Bingham kept the second-place trend alive with a 1:04.13 in the 400 meter hurdles.
Eighth-place marks were accomplished from Olson-Skog in the 100 meter dash (12.24), Emerson Mullen in the 800 meter run (2:28.02), Jordan Stanislowski in the triple jump (10.73m), and Rachel Wehrman in the hammer throw (42.16m).Â
The Royals compete at the Hamline Invitational on Wednesday, April 1.
