ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Bethel University women's soccer team put together a determined effort on Wednesday afternoon but came up short in a 3–0 loss at St. Catherine.
The Royals showed strong defensive structure early, staying organized and limiting quality chances throughout much of the first half. Goalkeeper Autumn Maki anchored the back line with several key stops, keeping Bethel within reach as the Wildcats carried much of the early possession.
Bethel continued to fight into the second half, generating attacking momentum through Malia Beilby, Jessica Oliver, and Eleanor Rundell, who each created shots on frame. The Royals finished with 10 total shots, including five on goal, and earned several opportunities in transition and on set pieces.
Defensively, Kendall Craigan, Anna Sukle, and Hannah Helberg led a gritty back-line effort, while Sydney Ebner and Hailey Bergan helped control tempo in the midfield. Maki turned in another standout performance in goal, recording 10 saves on the afternoon.
The Royals move to 2–12–2 overall and 2–6–1 in MIAC play, continuing to show growth and resilience down the stretch of the season.
Bethel closes out the regular season Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at home against Carleton College at Ona Orth Athletic Complex.
