The Bethel men's soccer team fell to the St. Olaf College Oles in their first MIAC matchup of the season, 2-1. The Royals move to 3-4-0 as they look ahead to more MIAC play this week.
How It Happened:
- Jack Hanson helped get the Royals off to a strong start just ten minutes into the first half as he worked the ball up the right side of the field, battling hard against an Ole defender. He broke free and delivered a cross to the foot of Jordan Ross at the 6-yard-box, who one-timed the ball into the back of the Ole net.
- Still, St. Olaf showed that they weren't going to go down without a fight, outshooting Bethel in the first half, 10-7.
- So, it was only a matter of time before the Oles earned a goal of their own, and it came in at 66:46 off of a free kick just outside of the Royals' 18-yard-box.
- The next 23 minutes saw a tense battle between the teams as both searched for the advantage, but it was the Oles who would come away with it at 88:16. The Royals attempted to answer back, but the seconds dwindled away, and St. Olaf claimed the victory.
