ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Bethel Royals won 8 events at the Meet of the Unsaintly hosted by Hamline on Friday. Bethel took victories in the sprints, hurdles, jumps, distance, throws, and relays. 

Cameron McConnel had a personal best time in the 100m dash to win in 10.68 seconds, which is the 2nd best time in program history next to teammate Landen Liu.

Freshman Sam Raitz ran his first outdoor 400m dash of the year, winning in a personal best time of 49.24 seconds. Caleb Ketterling took 3rd place in 50.01, just 0.03 off his best time this year.

Luke Peterson won the 1500m in 4:13.52 for his first victory of the season.

Josh Sampson ran a stellar 400m hurdle race, winning in 53.12 seconds. This was only Sampson's 2nd ever 400m hurdles, and is now ranked 14th in Division III. David Myres was 2nd in a personal best time of 53.91 and is 21st in Division III.

Jonah Kalsnes won the 3000m steeplechase leading wire-to-wire in a time of 10:09.19. 

The team of Clark Nelson, Eli Berg, Kalsnes, and Peterson won the 4x400m relay in a time of 3:30.22.

Sam Gardeen won the pole vault by clearing 4.60m / 15'1" on his first attempt. 

Evan Larsen had a terrific series in the discus, winning with his best toss of 49.15m / 161'3". Larsen also took 2nd in the hammer throw with a toss of 51.40m / 168'8" and 3rd in shot put with 14.68m / 48'2". 

Bethel picked up many other 2nd and 3rd place performances on the day, highlighted by Josh Thomsen and David Myres going 2-3 in the 110H. Thomsen ran 14.39 and Myres ran 14.42, times that are ranked 18th and 21st in Division III. 

On Wednesday evening, Grant Graber raced the 5000m at St. Thomas, running a personal best 14:46.98, the 2nd fastest time in program history.

The Royals will compete next week in the MIAC Championships on Friday, May 10th and Saturday, May 11th at Hamline University.
