RESULTS
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The #2 ranked Royals earned 5 event victories that included one in each event area - sprints, distance, jumps, throws - at the St. John's Invitational on Saturday, April 20th.
Evan Larsen led the Bethel throwers with a victory in the discus - his 2nd in a row. Larsen threw 47.68m / 156'5" to win by 6.5 feet. Phil Conant was 4th with a throw of 42.46m / 139'3".Â
Adam Hokanson took 3rd place in the shot put with a throw of 14.74m / 48'4.5", while Larsen was right behind in 4th with a throw of 14.58m / 47'11".
Sam Gardeen continued his impressive vaulting streak, winning the pole vault by clearing 4.55m / 14'11".Â
Pryce Ferrin set a new personal best in the 110m hurdles, winning the race in 15.35 seconds. The Royals now own 5 of the top 6 best times in the MIAC in the 110m hurdles.Â
David Myres ran an impressive 400m hurdle race, winning in 54.65 seconds.Â
In his first ever 10k, Grant Graber earned a victory, running 32:53.11. Graber led every step of the race and won by over a minute.
Caleb Ketterling took 2nd place in the 400m dash with a time of 50.79.
Abe Schlegel earned two top-5 finishes in the field events on Saturday. Schlegel took 4th place in the javelin with a personal best toss of 44.81m / 147'00" and 5th place in the long jump with a leap of 6.30m / 20'8".
The Royals will compete at several different meets next week. Bethel will have several athletes at the University of Minnesota on Wednesday evening, the Drake Relays Thursday through Saturday, and Macalester on Thursday and Saturday.
