ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Coming off its second straight MIAC Playoff Championship title, the No. 11th-ranked Bethel University softball team is headed to Central (IA) for the 2023 NCAA Division III Softball Championships. The Royals open up the Pella Regional against WIAC champion Wisconsin-La Crosse, Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m.
The host Dutch, who received an at-large bid, host the Midwest Conference champion Grinnell. The four-team double elimination regional is set to take place May 18-20.
BU enters the tournament 33-3 overall and is on a 23-game winning streak which currently is tied for the program record. BU is making back-to-back tourney trips after reaching the super regionals in last season. In the Royals' first NCAA tournament they won the St. Paul Regional knocking off Washington University in St. Louis twice, including a 15-inning thriller to force the if-necessary game.
