NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Bethel University women's cross country team placed fifth at the 2023 MIAC Championships tallying 150 points Saturday afternoon at the Bill Huyck Championship Course on the Carleton campus.
Josie Harms and
Anna Cargill notched All-MIAC Honorable Mention performances with big time performances in the cold temperatures. Harms placed 16th while Cargill placed 24th.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Harms ran a season-best time of 22:53.9 while holding a strong position all race long. She got off to a quick start clocking in a 7:21.7 time at the 2k mark. From the 5k mark to the finish she ran a split time of 3:38.2
• Cargill had a lifetime-best time of 23:22.6 boasted by a 3:37.1 spit time between the 5k mark and the finish line.

Esther Nelson clocked in a 43rd place finish in a time of 24:16.2. She jumped 26 spots at the 4k mark where she was at 16:30.4. She worked her way up the pack with a 4:06 split at the 5k checkpoint and finished with a 3:39.8 split.

Laura Hardwick and
Bella Duncombe rounded out BU's top five finishing 52nd and 53rd respectively in times of 24:27.3 and 24:28.1.
