COLFAX, Wisc. – The Bethel Royals placed 6th out of 25 teams at the Blugold Invite on Friday evening. "Our women were very enthusiastic heading into this meet and their races mirrored their attitudes," said Head Coach Kevin Rengo. "The teamwork, support, and brave racing I saw today was a reflection of what we try to do every day at practice."
Mikayla Erlenborn ran a phenomenal race, placing 10th overall in an incredibly competitive field. Her time of 22:47 is the 11th fastest 6k in program history. Josie Harms ran aggressively from the gun and was rewarded with a personal best time of 23:43 in 28th place. Freshman Anna Cargill executed her race strategy and earned a personal best time of 24:24 and placed 51st overall. Evie Hage ran a season best time of 24:30 for 59th place, and captain Anna Decker rounded out the scoring by finishing 67th in a time of 24:56.
"Running well here today was a natural step for our women," said Rengo. "We are going to use this momentum as we begin to ramp up for the championship season."
