NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Bethel Royals scored 183 team points to take 6th place out of 20 teams at the St. Olaf Invite on Saturday, September 17th. "Our women had a terrific meet, especially for our first 6k of the season," said Head Coach Kevin Rengo. "We have been working really hard and we came in a little fatigued to this meet. But our women showed a lot of trust in each other and were courageous in their racing."
Mikayla Erlenborn was the top finisher for Bethel in her first ever 6k race and first cross country race in 4 years. Erlenborn finished 20th in a time of 23:34. Sophomore Josie Harms ran with Erlenborn through the first half of the race and held on for a personal best time of 23:54, placing 23rd. Evie Hage and Ruby Gernandt both closed hard in the 2nd half of the race, moving up a combined 57 spots. Hage was 55th in 25:05 and Gernandt was 61st in 25:11. Freshman Anna Cargill rounding out the scoring, finishing 66th with a time of 25:17.
The Royals will compete next at the UWEC Invite at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, WI on Friday, September 30th.Â
