ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – A tough shooting night for the Bethel University women's basketball team aided in a 54-48 loss to undefeated Hamline inside the Robertson Center Wednesday evening
Â
Offensive troubles from the start led to a 29.3 percent (17-of-58) clip from the field for the Royals. Hamline shot 42.6 percent (20-of-47) from the field that included six three-pointers.
Â
The Royals narrowly outrebounded the Pipers 34-33, but dominated the offensive boards with a 13-4 advantage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
• Hamline opened the game on a 9-0 scoring run before
Anna Garfield ended it at the 5:36 mark.
• Despite being held to a pair of field goals in the first quarter, a 6-for-6 mark at the charity stripe pulled them within 14-10 after 10 minutes.
• A jumper from Autumn Earny with just over a minute to go brought the Royals within 23-21, but a pair of threes from the Pipers sent Bu into the locker room down eight.
Second Half
• The Royals came out of the locker room on a 7-0 run over a 3:43 stretch pulling within one and forcing a Hamline timeout.
• BU's defense forced an empty possession of the Pipers before taking a 31-29 lead on a banked-in 3-pointer by
Colette Duininck as the shot clock was expiring.
• Despite Bethel's pesky defense that left the Pipers without a bucket until the 2:43 mark, Hamline knotted it up at 34-34 after three quarters.
• Hamline knocked down a trey early in the fourth giving them the lead for good. They went on to hit all three of its attempts from behind the arc.
•
Courtney Nuest hit her second three of the night with 1:33 left making it 49-46, but BU would get no closer scoring just one more field goal from that point on.
