Women's XC 9th at NCAA North Region

RESULTS

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Bethel Royals earned a 9th place finish at the NCAA North Regional by scoring 296 team points on Saturday, November 12th. This was Bethel's best finish since 2018.

"I am so incredibly proud of these women," said Head Coach Kevin Rengo. "They showed big time courage on the big time stage. Our women put themselves in a position to succeed early and were tough on the first really cold day of the year."

The Royals were led by sophomore Josie Harms and her 37th place finish. Harms stuck her neck out early, going with the main chase pack through the first half of the 6k race, and finishing in 23:18. Mikayla Erlenborn ran a gutsy race, battling sickness, to finish in 38th place with a time of 23:23. Freshman Anna Cargill and captain Anna Decker both broke the 24-minute mark for the first time in their careers. Cargill ran 23:56 to place 61st, and Decker ran 25:59 to place 62nd. Evie Hage rounded out the scoring for the Royals, placing 98th with her time of 24:42.

"A top-10 team finish in this region is no small feat," said Rengo. "The amount of support from teammates, parents, and friends that came to watch helped propel us as well. These women have worked tremendously hard this season, and it's exciting to think that we'll bring them all back next year!"
