ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Bethel Royals placed 6th at the MIAC Championships with 159 team points, and Josie Harms earned All-MIAC honorable mention with her 20th place finish. "I'm really proud of how our women handled themselves today in the heat of a championship competition," said Head Coach Kevin Rengo. "They put themselves in the right position from the gun and ran well as a pack. It was a big blow for us to not have our top runner (Mikayla Erlenborn) finish because of illness today, but our women supported each other so well throughout the race and didn't give up."
Harms was the top finisher for Bethel with her All-MIAC performance. Her time of 24:00 placed her 20th overall, an improvement of 25 places from a year ago. Captain Anna Decker placed 38th with a time of 24:49, which was 19 spots higher than last year. Ruby Gernadt ran a terrific race to place 39th in 24:55, 59 places better than in 2021. Evie Hage took 51st in a time of 25:26, and freshman Anna Cargill rounded out the scoring in 57th place with her time of 25:35.
The Royals will conclude the championship portion of the season by racing at the NCAA North Region Championship at St. Olaf on Saturday, November 12th.
