NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Championship season has begun for the Royals' track and field team.
Sally Paul,
Lukas Walton,
Micah Smith, and
Trevor Wellman all competed in the MIAC Combined Event Championships hosted by Carleton College on Thursday and Friday.
Sally Paul came away with a personal best score of 3,838 points in the heptathlon placing 6th overall. Her total is the 3rd best score in program history and only 53 points out of 3rd place in a closely contested event.Â
Lukas Walton led the way for the men in the decathlon with 5,777 points for 6th place.
Micah Smith had personal bests in all five of his events on day two and scored 5,520 points to finish 10th in a very deep field. Smith's total ranks him 9th on Bethel's all-time list.
Trevor Wellman came away with 4641 points, a personal best score for 15th place.Â
