STARTING FIVE
1)Â The Bethel University women's basketball team continues a tough MIAC stretch traveling to Augsburg Wednesday evening. Tonight's matchup is the middle of a three-game stretch in seven days for the Royals who started the week with a 65-62 loss at Concordia on Monday and will host Saint Benedict Saturday at 2 p.m.
2)Â The Royals put three players in double-digit scoring figures for the second straight game.
Elizabeth Schwarz led the way with 13 points against the Cobbers while
Michaela Craigan and
Kat Brown-Erdal each chipped in 11. For Schwarz it is the second game she has led the team in scoring while Brown-Erdal and and Craigan reached double digits for the second consecutive game.
3)Â With seven steals on Sunday evening,
Bella Williams moves her career steals mark to 212 ranking fourth all-time in program history. The senior ranks five nationally and second in the MIAC averaging 4.3 takeaways a game. Williams is the program's single-season steals record holder after her 115 steals last year.
4)Â Bethel ranks 12th nationally from the charity stripe where they shoot 77.3 percent (51-of-66). After going perfect from the line against Saint Mary's (15-for-15), BU hit 17 of its 24 attempts from the line (70.8 percent) at Concordia. Bethel's last perfect game from the stripe prior to Saint Mary's came on November 11, 2015 where they went 11-for-11 in a 91-49 win at Principia.
5)Â The Bethel versus Augsburg matchup has built a rivalry over the last two seasons. In 2018-19 Augsburg took all three meetings including a MIAC Semifinal win in Minneapolis. Bethel got their revenge in 2019-20 taking all three meetings including the MIAC Playoff Championship inside the Robertson Center. BU leads the all-time series 61-24 and is 27-15 inside Si Melby Hall.
