DAY 1 RECAP
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The Bethel Royals women's track and field team earned a 2
nd place team finish by scoring 91 points at the MIAC Indoor Championships. This is the highest finish in program history at the MIAC Championships.
The Royals scored big in the relays on Saturday at St. John's. Both the 4x200m relay and the 4x400m relay took home 1st place. In the 4x200,
Hannah Sankey,
Britta Nordberg,
Corin McKinstrey, and
Kelsie Sealock ran a time of 1:45.32 to win the race. That is the 3rd best time in program history. In the final event of the day, Sankey, McKinstrey,
Mikayla Turek, and
Delia Labatt combined to run a MIAC Indoor Championships meet record and facility record time of 3:55.37. Earlier in the day, Labatt raced her way to 3rd place in the 200m with a season best time of 25.96.
Bethel racked up 13 points in the field events on Saturday. Freshman
Jessica Lilland set a school record in the pole vault with her clearance of 10'11.75"/3.35m on her first attempt. That jump landed her in 2nd place in the event, scoring 8 points for the Royals.
Grace Perrenoud continued her terrific weekend in the horizontal jumps by taking 4th place in the triple jump. Her leap of 35'9.25"/10.90m is a season best by 1'7.75"/50cm and is the 3rd best jump in program history.
The Royals continue their indoor season next week at the Wartburg Last Chance Meet on Saturday, March 7th. Several athletes will give their final attempt at qualifying for the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on March 13th-14th.
